(The Astrological
predictions are based on the Principles of Vedic Astrology)
Currently the election fever is heating up in
the USA. The conventions of both the Republican party and the Democratic party
are over. Governor George Bush Jr. is now the official candidate of GOP. Vice
president Al Gore is the official candidate of the Democratic party .
In addition Mr. Ralph Nader will be in the
election fray from the Green party and Mr. Pat. Buchanan from the Reform party.
The polls indicate that the race to the White
house is likely to be very close until the end. What
do the stars foretell about this race to the presidency?
This astrological analysis to evaluate the
chance of success in the elections is being done focusing only on Governor
George Bush and on the Vice President Al Gore as they both are the only main
contenders in this Presidential race.
Now let us analyze the election
prospects of both these Presidential aspirants. It is to be understood that
astrology can only indicate the likelihood of events in the future. It is
advised that no fatalistic view be taken of this analysis.

Governor George Bush Jr.:
He was born on July 6,1946 at 7:26 AM (EDT) at New
Haven Connecticut USA. He has cancer ascendant, Virgo Moon sign and Gemini
Sun sign. Lord of his ascendant Moon is placed in a sign with 7 bindus, lord of
the 10th Mars is placed in a sign with 3 bindus and lord of the 9th house
Jupiter is placed in a sign with 4 bindus. Further his natal chart is rendered
strong due to the presence of "Gaja Kesari yoga'. Further in the Navamsa
chart Venus and Sun are strongly placed. All these have rendered his horoscope
very strong and thus helped him to become the Governor of Texas for two
consecutive terms. No wonder he is running for the next Presidency.
Currently he is running in the Mahadasa of
Saturn, antar dasa of Mars and pratyantar dasa of Venus, which commenced on
August 28 and this pratyantar dasa will last until November 3rd, 2000. This is a
favorable pratyantar dasa period which will be conducive to success. After Nov
3, 2000, the pratyantar dasa of Sun will commence and last until Nov 23rd, 2000.
This will be a favorable pratyantar dasa period and it will be conducive to
success.
Vice President Al
Gore:
He was born on March 31 1948 at 12:53 PM (EST)
at Washington DC. He has Cancer ascendant, Sagittarius Moon sign and Pisces Sun
sign. Lord of his Moon sign is placed in the 6th house along with Jupiter
forming a powerful "Gaja kesari yoga". Moon Jupiter
combination in Sagittarius forms "Hamsa maha purusha yoga". Mars
although debilitated has the debilitation cancelled due to placement with Saturn
and this forms "Ruchaka maha purusha yoga". Moon, his ascendant lord
is placed in a sign with 7 bindus. Both Mercury and Jupiter are placed in a sign
with 5 bindus. All these have rendered his horoscope very strong. No wonder he
is a Vice President of USA for the last 8 years and is in the run for the next
Presidency.
Currently he is running in Rahu maha dasa,
Saturn antar dasa and Jupiter pratyantar dasa which commenced on July 6th, 2000
and this will last until November 22nd, 2000. This is a favorable pratyantar
dasa period which will be conducive to success.
Key factor
The Presidential Election is due to take place
on November 7th, 2000. How to evaluate the chances
of success of each of these two Presidential aspirants?. Astrologically
speaking the maha dasa, antar dasa and pratyantar dasa in both the cases being
favorable ones the situation of the transiting planets on the day of election
will hold the key about the chances of success of the respective presidential
aspirants.
Let us look at the transiting planetary map on
November 7th, 2000. Sun will transit the 6th kakshya in Libra, Moon will transit
the 8th kaklshya in Aquarius, Mars will transit the 3rd kakshya in Virgo.
Mercury will be retrograde and transit the 3rd kakshya in Libra, Jupiter will be
retrograde and transit the 4th kakshya in Taurus, Venus will transit the 8th
kakshya in Scorpio,Saturn will be retrograde and will transit the 2nd kakshya in
Taurus, Rahu will transit the 7th kakshya in Gemini and Kethu will transit the
7th kakshya in Sagittarius.
The election is due to be held on
November 7th, 2000. What is the situation of transiting planets on November 7th,
2000.
In Governor George Bush's
Case, transiting Jupiter and saturn are in the 11th house which is favorable.
But his Sun who is the signification for politics and political matters will be
transiting just two bindus in his own ashtakavarga. This
is bad. Further taking a kashya count of all planets on 11/7/2000. it is seen that only one out of 7 planets will be transiting in kakshya with
bindu. This is bad.
In the case of Vice
President Al Gore transiting Jupiter and
Saturn will transit the 11th house from his ascendant which is good. Sun who is
the sigificator for politics and political matters will transit 8 bindus in his
own ashtakavarga. This is good. Further taking a
Kakshya count of all planets on 11/7/2000, it is seen that 5 planets out of 7
will be transiting a kakshya with bindu. This is good.

Conclusions:
The race to White House is likely to be a close
one until the election day. However in the final analysis Vice
President Al Gore seems to have an edge over his rival on the election
day.
Vice President Al Gore is likely to make it to the
white house this fall.
